One of the town’s favorite places to grab a quick snack and dessert, the Dairy Queen in Cumberland is run by a devoted couple that is constantly giving back to the community. Not only do they participate in Dairy Queen’s National Free Cone day, they donate to our Rutabaga Festival, participate in the Baga Bunny Hunt with their free Dilly Bar sticks for the ears and entertain busloads of kids at the end of the school year when they stop by for a treat on their way to get dropped off from school. Offering soft serve ice cream just a short walk away, many of us can probably remember a time when we took a break from swimming at the beach, watching a football game at Moser Field, or between unlimited rides during Rutabaga Fest to enjoy a cone, blizzard or dilly bar. In recent years we have seen the Cumberland Dairy Queen stay committed to bringing their customer’s the best service and quality food by making improvements to the indoor space and adding a few new tables outside to enjoy your treats at. I think the only “complaint” you could find about CDQ is that they aren’t open all year long! What are we supposed to do when it’s 30 below and for some reason we’re just hankering for a buster bar?!
Incredibly talented and outstandingly good at curating art, music and local culture, the owners of Dancing Bird Art Studio have lived and loved this community for many years. Always beautifully showcasing their current works for sale, a glance into the front windows of The Dancing Bird gives you a sneak peak at the various mediums used to create the artwork.
