Mastering the art and science of massage, Stacy felt she could bring more to the table at her practice in downtown Cumberland. She pursued a four year Master’s of science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Chinese Pharmacology, eventually adding on a three year Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Though not as popular in Western medicine as it is in the the east, acupuncture is growing in popularity thanks to well trained professionals like Stacy showing the many benefits of the skill. From relieving stresses of the mind to stresses of the body, aiding in chronic or acute pains and even for cosmetic applications, acupuncture can help many daily issues. If traditional Western methods have failed you, try an alternative in natural healing. Guided by a professional, natural healing can be a great alternative to pills and synthetic medicines. The goal at Aspen Acupuncture Clinic is to bring an ancient modality to a modern world.

Wacky Wednesdays (buy 1/get 1 free on slices of pizza), gas with Invigorate® and pizza to-go are some of the best things about the station located just before the Dairy Queen right off the highway as you head north through town. If you’re on your way up north, stop by, gas up and grab the goodies!
Chocked full of Wisconsin staples like cheese curds, brats and fudge, the Creamery in Comstock is more than just a retail store. Stop by and grab a sandwich from the deli, take a peek at the cheese making process and have a nice lunch outside on the picnic tables (You might just catch the fried cheese curd truck on a nice day in the Summer too!).
Nuts and bolts, gardening goodies, whole home planning. Projects big or small, hobbies part time or serious, your local Ace Hardware can help you get the tools and supplies you need to finish up your honey-do list. Work with the guys in the planning section for everything from remodels to new builds, homes to pole sheds. With a healthy selection in store and the ability to custom order right to the store, don’t hesitate to ask if you can quite find what you’re looking for. Remember them also for small engine repair, chainsaw blade sharpening, propane purchase and exchange, key cutting, glass cutting and repair, pipe cutting and threading, paint color matching and screen repair just to name a few!
One of the town’s favorite places to grab a quick snack and dessert, the Dairy Queen in Cumberland is run by a devoted couple that is constantly giving back to the community. Not only do they participate in Dairy Queen’s National Free Cone day, they donate to our Rutabaga Festival, participate in the Baga Bunny Hunt with their free Dilly Bar sticks for the ears and entertain busloads of kids at the end of the school year when they stop by for a treat on their way to get dropped off from school. Offering soft serve ice cream just a short walk away, many of us can probably remember a time when we took a break from swimming at the beach, watching a football game at Moser Field, or between unlimited rides during Rutabaga Fest to enjoy a cone, blizzard or dilly bar. In recent years we have seen the Cumberland Dairy Queen stay committed to bringing their customer’s the best service and quality food by making improvements to the indoor space and adding a few new tables outside to enjoy your treats at. I think the only “complaint” you could find about CDQ is that they aren’t open all year long! What are we supposed to do when it’s 30 below and for some reason we’re just hankering for a buster bar?!

Since 1981, a local cooperative of folks who support the offering of local produce, organic dairy, vitamins and supplements & bulk goods have operated the Island City Food Co-op in downtown Cumberland. With fresh bread and bakery goods offered in their coffee shop adjoined to the store, this soon became a gathering place for locals to sit and gossip while they enjoyed a fresh cup of joe. Sadly the pandemic has put a temporary hold on folks gathering in such close quarters, but in an effort to adapt to the changing needs of their customers the co-op offers either in store or curbside pick up for your grocery needs. Just shoot them an email or give them a call and they’ll have your order ready to go in a few hours. For your convenience you can even purchase a voucher from the co-op so you don’t have to putz around with writing checks, getting change or using a card for every purchase. Simply purchase a voucher and charge your purchases to your account. You can view a full list of the products offered by the co-op on their website, and stay in touch with new arrivals by following their Facebook page.
